Our story

Named after Joseph and Freshia

Jofreshia is named after Joseph and Freshia, two bubbly siblings whose journeys are set apart by one thing: early intervention. Freshia, the older of the two, lives with multiple disabilities and visual impairment and depends on her parents in every sense of the word. Joseph was diagnosed with autism at the age of two, and the support he received from that point on shaped the independent young man he is today.

That difference is why we exist. We walk with families from the first assessment, through therapy and classroom learning, all the way to skills that can earn an income.

Our values

What guides us

Three commitments shape every plan we write for a learner.

Dignity first

Every plan starts with what a learner can do. We build on strengths and celebrate small wins loudly.

Family partnership

Parents and guardians are part of the team. We share progress, setbacks and next steps openly.

Independence

From brushing teeth to baking a cake for sale, we teach skills that carry into adult life.

How we work

The three pillars

Everything we teach sits under one of these three pillars.

Early intervention session

A learner practising daily living skills

Functional & education skills
